A weddingmoon on a private island styled to perfection
After months of collaborating with talented and inspiring vendors, companies, and friends we created an incredible styled wedding moon sure to get your creative juices flowing. Our photographer, Sara Wight flew here from New York to capture all the details, and we are dying to see the amazing images!
I had to share the magic that I captured on my phone from the busy day...so here's a little sneak peak for you all to enjoy!
Our day started with the happy couple arriving to Great St. James, a private island in the US Virgin Islands! What better way to savor every moment with the love of your life than on a lush island with romance and beauty everywhere you turn.
Rent The Runway offered to send us 3 designer dresses for our styled shoot and they were all so perfect for the 'look' we were going for...effortless, simple, and so elegant. Of course the perfect Caribbean backdrop didn't hurt either. Hushed Commotion provided delicate accessories and veils that were handmade so beautifully.
After taking in all the beauty of the location, our couple enjoyed a relaxing breakfast in bed to unwind. The fresh scones were baked by the talented Queen of Tarts and they looked scrumptious next to the vibrant beautiful flowers all provided by Roses Too.
The Plum Pretty Sugar robe was a great addition to the breakfast in bed shoot...the colors, and style looked wonderful!
The water colored love letters added another layer of romance; the quotes were all from the book 'Gift from the Sea' by Anne Morrow Lindbergh. This amazing book we purchased from The Nest in Mongoose Junction, was the inspiration for our styled shoot. The color, the feeling, and most importantly the touching words helped kick start our imaginations and creativity.
What wedding would be complete without gorgeous rings to symbolize an eternal love?! Sholdt Design was gracious enough to mail down some incredible jewelry all the way from Seattle! Their intricate pieces complimented the dresses just beautifully..so in love with the rings!
After the happy couple was relaxed and settled in...it was time for a little dip in the pool and the ocean to cool off. Ranifly Bikini let us showcase her stylish swimwear and sarong which looked beautiful on our bride. The sun-hat flower crown was oh so adorable that Roses Too made...I wish I could wear it every day! Ha!
MJ from Motu Bar made delicious cocktails for our couple to enjoy throughout the day. It's important to stay hydrated when you're in the sun all day...and it's easy to do when you have cocktails served to you in pineapples!
These tropical inspired cookies from Queen of Tarts were as delicious as they were beautiful! Nice little snack to enjoy poolside...even DD the island dog thought they were tasty! :)
This colorful long dress was a lovely choice for our couple to have a dinner out on St. John. They were picked up by sailboat at sunset and enjoyed a romantic commute to their dinner destination. Thanks to Virgin Magic Charters for working with us!
We really fell in love with the intimate, casual setting we styled and designed for our couple to enjoy cocktails and dessert. Queen of Tarts made the most amazing wedding cake with textured ruffles to emulate the waves of the sea. The shades of purples in the bridal bouquet looked so lovely with the accents of mints and colors of the sea. I loved the textures in the sand, coral fans, and driftwood that complimented the elegance in the flowers and candles.
Candles on the beach at sunset was a pretty romantic sight to see. Great St. James has so many breathtaking views, locations, and options to create a perfect weddingmoon or vacation for anyone wanting to fully relax and unwind.
A big thank you to all the talented vendors who worked with us to help create such a magical day! We can't wait to go back to beautiful Great St. James again soon!
