Designing the perfect table scape for your wedding

so many ideas......

One of my favorite aspects of wedding design is collaborating on the tablescape. I have to thank my mom for instilling in me that a beautiful table creates the focus and ambiance of an event.Even with six small children to raise, we always had candlelight dinners at our home.I can see where my obsession with candles and lighting come from!!

start with the basics

We always start with discovering the bride’s style.A common description I hear from my clients is understated elegance.Having an island wedding provides a breath taking back drop and I am always in favorof less is best. However what does that statement mean? Are you a fan of vintage? Do you prefer clean, classic lines?Do you love glitter and glam? Each of these styles can translate into understate elegance.

ahh the vision is coming together

I suggest to my clients that they create a Pintrest page.Because we are working virtually, this helps me get an idea of what a bride’s vision is.Our next step is like creating a red wine reduction sauce.Let’s simmer the ideas and craft a design that works here. What looks great from a magazine may be completely unrealistic here in the tropics. Many factors play into this- tropical sun, trade winds, and accessibility to products.   Our fine wine reduction sauce brings form from their vision to showstopping ambiance.

the finishing touches

The best part of the process is seeing the bride’s (and groom’s) face when she sees the final creation.Months of phone calls, photo exchanges, mock table set ups and brain storming have all come together.  Success!!!!!
