Wedding planning can be overwhelming at times. I always find it amusing when speaking with potential clients who feel confident that they can coordinate their destination wedding because they have visited the location.  During initial consultations, it is common to hear… “We are very familiar with the location”, “We have lots of local friends”, “We really don’t need a coordinator because we have visited the location many times.”

My questions to you are…Do you entertain at home on a regular basis?  When was the last time you hosted a dinner party for 25, 50 or 100 friends?  Are you a confident hostess?  Do your regularly plan travel for 20, 30, 50 or 100 friends? Do you have the resources to address last minute challenges such as inclement weather, no shows of vendors?   If you answered a resounding “Yes” to my questions above…my next question is “Why would you WANT to do this on your wedding day?“

When planning the details of a destination wedding, there are many logistics that a wedding planner can maneuver to assure you and your guests have a memorable wedding week that is focused on the the beautiful love and views that surround them. Assisting with accommodations, transportation by land, air, and sea, the list can be as long as your dreams are big!  Couples should be allowed to host their wedding without the stress of who, what, where.  Navigating the logistics of a wedding can be overwhelming.  A planner’s job is to take your vision and implement it realistically according to the destination.   A planner should work closely with you to understand  your style.  They guide you to a final design that works with the venues, climate and logistics of your destination.

When you land in the Caribbean for your wedding week, the last thing you want to worry about are the details of your wedding events, how to get to your rental villa, where to get your dress steamed. What you need to worry about is staying hydrated at the beach, and wearing sun screen! Your week of celebrating will go by fast; it's so important that you can savor as much time as possible with your loved ones and making memories that will last a lifetime! Your wedding planner will assure you can relax and truly enjoy every moment!

A wedding coordinator is like the conductor of a symphony.  Each musician (Vendor) is talented in his own right.   The conductor, however brings each together to create sweet harmonies. They know which musician blends well with the rest of the orchestra to provide the perfect melody.

The best compliment we receive at Island Style Weddings is that our clients feel that they are guests at their own wedding.
