Many couples struggle when trying to decide if a destination wedding is the right choice for them as well as their guests.  A common concern is that they are somehow inconveniencing their guests when asking them to attend their destination wedding.  They feel guilty that the guests will incur travel and hotel expenses that they might not have in a traditional wedding.

Let’s take a look at it from another perspective.  Destination weddings usually include the days leading up to the wedding and are filled with fun group activities that all of the guests can enjoy.   Not only do the guests enjoy spending time with the two of you, but they also get to know the other guests as well.

What better way to spend quality time with friends and family then to kick back on a pristine white sandy beach sipping a tropical beverage?   You have time to spend with your guests though out the days prior to the big day.  You will be much more relaxed for your wedding day, having had time to enjoy the location as well as your guests.

14 years and 800+ weddings later, I find that at the end of our weddings, the guests are thanking their hosts for inviting them.  Your guests get to enjoy your wedding with their new friends, have a family reunion as well as a vacation, they may never have taken.

Still not convinced?  Just look at George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin’s recent nuptial weekend in Italy!  And no, you do not need to have George’s bank account to host a destination wedding.  The intimacy, love and happiness that a destination wedding offers are priceless!
